The girls had their last basketball tourney in Emmetsburg on Saturday morning. We had a small group that day, but it worked out because the girls got tons of playing time in. The first game we won by a basket and it did come down to holding your breath every time the other team shot a basket! But they held them off and we won. The second game we couldn't get any of our baskets to fall and ended up losing by about 6 points. It was tough because they felt they could have won, but they played hard. It just wasn't our game. The last game we knew the team hadn't lost yet. So we were really guning to win. The whole game went back and forth and at one time I think we were down by 8 points (which is a lot in a 4th grade bb game). We ended up winning that game by 4 points. The girls were so excited and we were super proud of them. Because of the way they had the tourney set up, we tied for first place, and they did the official tie breaker based on who had the least points scored against them, meaning we ended up in second.
Obviously someone has been watching a lot of the Olympics the last two weeks!!
I'm so proud of her and how much she has learned in the short 3 months of basketball. When she started it was pretty much her introduction to the sport. She knew some of the basics, but for the most part had to start from the beginning. There might have been a few times I got on her about this or that, but she took it in and tried harder. And there were some tears, but my mom tells me she is just like I was at her age...super sensitive and cried at the drop of a hat.

So crazy to me that we have daughters that are old enough to play in Saturday tournaments. Feels like just yesterday it was us. We can't be that old, right?! :)
We are only as old as we feel :) Therefor I'm still 21, haha
